Terms of Service
The rules for RiffLab accounts, membership and learning content.
1. The service
RiffLab provides browser-based guitar learning, tuning, exercises, songs and performance feedback. The service is educational and does not guarantee a particular result.
2. Adult account holder
The account holder must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate details. The holder is responsible for the account, its password, payment obligations and any child learner using it. Children must not create their own account or contact Support without the adult's involvement.
3. Membership
Paid plans will renew monthly or yearly until cancelled. Prices, billing interval and any trial will be shown before checkout. Stripe processes payment and provides self-service cancellation. Cancellation normally prevents future renewal while access continues to the end of the paid period, subject to the checkout terms shown at purchase. Complimentary access may be changed or withdrawn by RiffLab.
4. Fair use
An account is for one household learner profile unless a plan says otherwise. Do not share credentials publicly, probe the service, bypass access controls, disrupt other users, copy the course catalogue or use RiffLab unlawfully.
5. Learning and microphone feedback
Automatic note and chord detection can be affected by instrument setup, technique, microphone quality, room noise and browser behaviour. Feedback is a learning aid and may occasionally be wrong. Keep listening volumes at a safe level.
6. Content and intellectual property
RiffLab's software, lesson structure, original exercises, graphics and original music are protected content. Membership gives a personal, revocable right to use them within the service. Third-party music will be offered only where RiffLab has the necessary rights or licence.
7. Availability and changes
Features and content may change as RiffLab develops. Maintenance or faults can interrupt access. RiffLab will take reasonable care in providing the service and will not exclude rights that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Suspension and ending an account
RiffLab may suspend access for security, non-payment, serious misuse or breach of these terms. An adult holder can request deletion in the account area. Active paid membership must be cancelled before deletion is completed.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@rifflab.co.uk. The laws and courts that apply will be confirmed before RiffLab begins taking live payments.
These documents are a clear operational draft for the beta. They should be reviewed against RiffLab's final business identity, payment terms and suppliers before live paid subscriptions begin.
