Child Safety
How adult-managed accounts support younger learners.
Adults stay in control
Only an adult aged 18 or over may create, own and manage a RiffLab account. A child can use the learning experience with that adult's permission and suitable supervision.
Limited learner details
The account asks only for an optional learner name or nickname. Do not add a child's email address, school, location or other unnecessary personal details to the learner profile or support messages.
Audio privacy
Microphone sound is analysed on the device to check tuning, notes and chords. This release does not record or upload that audio. The adult can remove microphone permission in browser or device settings at any time.
Communication and community
RiffLab currently has no direct messaging, public learner profile or user-uploaded media. If community features are added later, they will require a separate safety design and suitable adult controls before release.
Report a concern
Use the safeguarding category in the signed-in Support area or email hello@rifflab.co.uk. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service.
These documents are a clear operational draft for the beta. They should be reviewed against RiffLab's final business identity, payment terms and suppliers before live paid subscriptions begin.
